How to Enable or Disable Username Password Flow/SMS OTP on Singpass Developer Portal (SDP)

This guide will walk you through the steps to configure the Username Password Flow or SMS OTP settings on the Singpass Developer Portal (SDP) at developer.singpass.gov.sg for your staging app. 

Note: Enabling of Username Password Flow is not available in the Production environment

Step 1: Log In

• Go to developer.singpass.gov.sg and log in with your Singpass account (your Corppass Admin will need to authorise you to login on behalf of your entity).

Step 2: Select the Environment

• After logging in, choose the appropriate environment.
  (The default environment is the "Staging" environment.)

Step 3: Select Your Application

• Locate and click on the application you want to configure.

Step 4: Edit Your Configuration

• Open the settings for your selected application and edit the configuration.

Step 5: Configure Authentication Type

• Under the Authentication Type section, choose the desired option:
  1. 1FA (Username and Password Only):
     • Enables username and password authentication without SMS 2FA.
  2. 2FA (Username, Password, and SMS OTP):
     • Enables username and password authentication with SMS OTP for added security.
     • Note: You must tag a mobile number or a photo to your test account for this setting.
  3. QR (QR Code Login Only):
     • Disables username and password authentication entirely.
     • Note: You will need to download and install the Singpass Staging App to use this option.
