18 Mar 2025 - New Staging Singpass App Download Process

We are introducing a new, streamlined process for obtaining the Staging (STG) Singpass App, making access faster and more efficient. If you are actively testing, please ensure you are on the NEW Staging App. If you no longer require access, you may ignore this message.

What’s Changing?

• Immediate access via a direct URL - No more email delays : Use a direct URL instead of the previous FormSG submission process—get instant access without the uncertainty of delayed or lost emails.
• Visually distinct STG version: The STG version will have a different appearance from the Production (PRD) version to enhance clarity
• Automatic updates available: You can now enable auto-updates for the STG app, ensuring you always have the latest version.
• No dedicated test device needed: Unlike before, the STG and PRD versions can now co-exist on the same device, eliminating the need for a separate test device.
• App center decommissioning: The current App Center will be decommissioned by 31 March 2025. You will no longer be able to download the STG app there. 
• Your current STG app will work until it expires: Existing STG apps will remain functional until they expire. However, you must download the new STG app to continue using it beyond the expiration date. We encourage you to transition as soon as possible to avoid disruptions.

How to Get the New STG Singpass App?

• For Android Users: Use this link to download the app.
• For iOS Users: Install TestFlight first before downloading the STG app via this link.

What You Need to Do

• If you are an existing user of the STG Singpass App, you will need to download the new version.
• Re-onboard as needed to ensure a smooth transition.

Do You Really Need the STG Singpass App?

💡 Myth: You must have the STG Singpass App to test - Not true!

✅ Fact: Not necessarily! Simply toggle your Singpass API application Authentication Type to 1FA - this allows you to authenticate in STG using just your test account password, eliminating unnecessary setup. Refer to this guide for step-by-step instructions on how to enable 1FA authentication.

If you don’t urgently need the STG Singpass App, you can always download it later when required. Remember, every tool requires maintenance.
